In
brief, I have over eighteen years experience as a counsellor and
psychotherapist in private practice; during that time I have also
worked as a University student and staff counsellor and a RELATE
counsellor. See my profile for more details and a summary of my
trainings. Since 1994 I have also been an EAP counsellor, which
means that I have been selected to provide counselling for the
employees of a large number of major companies based in (or with
branches in) the East Midlands. As a counsellor trainer for the
last ten years, I have gained many more insights for myself, both
theoretical and practical. As a clinical supervisor
of many other therapists since 1988 I have increased my understanding
of a vast range of client concerns and therapeutic responses.
I work to the highest possible professional and ethical standards
in all aspects of my practice.
I have two accreditations by the BACP, one as a practitioner and
the other as a trainer. This is the highest level of practitioner
licensing currently available for counsellors in the UK.
I
am available for professional development consultation for those
wishing to explore strengths and weaknesses, blocks and areas
for development within their personal and professional role as
a teacher. By working together, it would be our aim to clarify
issues and build personal strengths to increase resilience in
what can sometimes feel an overly 'giving' position. We would,
through a range of strategies, seek to strengthen and enhance
your professional role as a teacher / facilitator.
